Ace Hotel

Shoreditch

“Best Renovation” at the 2014 European Hotel Design Awards

Planning Resolution secured planning permission for Ace Hotel’s extensive refurbishment of the former Crowne Plaza on Shoreditch High Street.

The 258 room hotel includes a 100-cover restaurant by Bistrotheque’s Pablo Flack and David Waddington on the ground floor and a 50-capacity adjoining bar, with separate street access.

Other ‘ancillary’ ground-level facilities include a cafe serving Square Mile Coffee, a take-away food kiosk, gallery space, a flower shop by local florist Hattie Fox, Lovage juice bar and a communal long table for those wishing to take a break.

The ground floor is a hallmark of Ace Hotel, designed to act as a space for guests as well as the local community to gather and interact.

These communal spaces are envisioned as a hub for interaction between guests but also to be used by the surrounding community. Within these spaces the Shoreditch tone continues with common local materials being used, such as brick metalwork and Crittall glazing.
